Kingdom Power

Why do struggle with God’s ability to help us with trials and challenges we are facing? If we really look into our hearts I would say it’s because we question not God’s goodness but our worth. The expectations we use as a measuring stick are based on a faulty view of who we are. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that we are a new creation! All things that are old have passed away. That means the measuring stick needs to be tossed out! We must measure ourselves in light of what God says about us!

We are not citizens of a faulty, decaying earth but heirs of a kingdom of power! 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power”. That means that God is actively involved in our lives. He isn’t just sitting there commiserating with us sympathetically when we face a hardship. He has given us the tools and authority we need to empower us to change and overcome those things that challenge and attempt to derail us. So often we plead in our prayers for God to change a circumstance we are facing. The truth is He has already done everything He needs to do for us. He has given us everything we need and He wants to see us use those tools.

We are no longer powerless, Praise God! How many times have we uttered the response “all I can do is pray”? Or “I wish I could do more to help besides pray”. Prayer is power! It is the MOST powerful thing we can do! It is the source of change in the earth. We have been give kingdom authority to speak into the earth and affect change!

We have within us the same power that raised Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11); the same power that spoke creation into existence (Genesis 1:26); the same power that has given us access to all of Heaven. No good thing does He withhold from those who love Him and are called according to his purpose! Let us cast off the feelings of hopelessness, lack and despondency. When a challenge arises, as they will, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith! Let us look expectantly not at our abilities but at His! Let’s eagerly anticipate, seek and expect how our Almighty God will move in, and thru our lives with His Kingdom Power!
