“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:9 NKJV
Recently I learned something amazing! Have you ever sat and looked out over a field of flowers and thought they just couldn’t be more beautiful! Often we look at moments like these and stand in awe of the beauty that “surely” everyone sees. Did you know that bugs and bees don’t see flowers the way we do? They have a perspective that is different not just because of their size but because they were created to view those same flowers differently.
Humans can’t see ultraviolet light but bugs are created to view the world in ultraviolet high definition. Thanks to ultraviolet florescence photography we can now see how those same flowers we thought must look the same can actually be viewed differently and how much more beauty they have to bugs.
Why would God create such diverse perspectives? I believe it is so we can learn how to 1) stand in awe of His glory and 2) learn that even when we are most assured of our perspective and that we are right there is always a broader viewpoint we can learn from if we are willing. Let us not be so determined in our perspective that we close our hearts to His ways being higher than ours. Let us not be so steadfast that we deny another person’s perspective and walk away in broken relationships. Let’s us walk in the humility that He has thoughts that are far greater than ours and let us walk in love. We can all learn more, love more and change lives more if we allow Him to set our perspective.
