When I was diagnosed with stage four cancer two years ago I started doing paint by numbers as a way to pass time and get through chemo treatments. I had never done anything artistic like that before and honestly didn’t think I had a creative fine arts bone in my body. When I felt the Holy Spirit lead me to pick up my brush Inhad no idea all the things He would reveal to me through this process. I have been very blessed to sell over 20 paintings. It has helped me financially pay for my supplies but more importantly it has given me a new outlet to hear the voice of God. I worship and pray as I paint and it is such an amazing time with God. I pray for a great many things as I paint and much of it is for whoever ends up with that particular painting. I am a living testimony that with God ALL things are possible. I have been so blessed to feel Him leading me in this journey and experiencing His creative nature.
This is my current paintin. I am slowly making progress.. lots of fine detail on this one. Tonight God spoke to my heart as I was painting that it is the little things that define our life and add shape and dimension. It’s not the mountain top experiences that bring meaning to our lives, it is the small slender strokes that stretch and grow us more and more into His image. It’s not the “great things we do for God” that bring Him glory. It is the simple, small moments that touch someone’s heart that reflect His amazing love. The enemy loves to get us all caught up in doing because he knows it warps the image of God we portray to others and keeps us from drawing closer to God ourselves.
If you are feeling like you lack direction to make a difference for God remember it is the small meaningful strokes that best reflect Him.
